The feedback to my 80’s time killer was fun (online and off-line). Most often heard and read was “if I would have heard the song beforehand, I would have known more of them”. Here’s your shot. Below is one of the greatest songs of all time (in my humble opinion). It comes from one of the greatest movies of all time. It also, happens to be the movie of which I gained my nickname. Oops….I’ve probably said to much. I’m looking for the following: 1. The name of the song 2. The group that sang it 3. The movie it … Continue reading Name that tune
You may or may not know this, but many DVD’s come with a hidden feature called an “Easter Egg“. They are hidden gems on DVD’s that might include additional features or commentary. Well in case you missed it, I put an Easter Egg on this blog yesterday too. A few people found it already so maybe I didn’t do a very good job hiding it. After some conversation with Jeremy, I pulled the trigger on something I have been wanting to do for a long time now. We both are trying something and it will be interesting see how it … Continue reading Easter Eggs
As 2007 rolled into 2008, I took some time to evaluate the things that occupy my time. Obviously one of those “things” is this very blog. I often joke that this thing has taken on a life of it’s own over the years. What started off as a quick diary for family has become a daily digest of my thoughts. As I look ahead to 2008 and what to do next, I guess I have one quick question for those that read the blog. Q: Why do you read this blog? I could be opening a whole can of worms … Continue reading Quick Question…
I read today where MC Hammer (remember him?) is launching a website this month called Dancejam.com. I guess someone gave him 1 Million dollars to start this thing! Basically it will be an on-line site for people to upload videos of them dancing to compete against other peoples videos. We are the lucky ones that get to vote on the videos. It’s like “Dancing With the Stars” without the stars. No truth to the rumor that I have submitted the video of Brynn dancing for the competition. Continue reading U Can’t Touch This?

Like everyone else, I hope to do some year end “Best of” posting this week. While I am not sure what all I will get to the web, I’ve got a few things in mind. If you have followed this blog for any amount of time, most of it will not come as any big surprise. With that said, my choice for Song (and maybe CD) of the year is “Home” by Daughtry. While there was a TON of great music this year, for me personally, I relate with this song. I connected with it the first time I heard … Continue reading Song of the Year
I have been hit HARD by a little 24 hour virus, so this is the first chance I have had to get back into the matrix a bit. I found this link sometime last week and just had to share it. Most of you probably know this, but I am color blind. No big deal, it is what it is. Doesn’t really bother me at all. What is funny though is that people often ask me the strangest questions about being color blind. The number one question I get is “So all you see is black and white?” Help has … Continue reading Being Me…
My son has been talking about this for weeks. Today his school had “Pajama Day”. When I dropped him off, I walked by several little people in their comfy, cozy “PJ’s” and was a bit jealous. One little girl even had her pink fuzzy slippers on. I wonder if we could get a movement to incorporate “Pajama Day” in the work force too? We already have “Casual Friday”. How bout “Pajama Monday”? I think I’m onto something here. After all, those two Bananas in Pajamas got away with it! In the words of John Belushi “Who’s with me”? Continue reading It's Pajama Day

I realized yesterday that this is homecoming weekend for my college alma mater. As you can probably tell, I didn’t go. I told Heather last night that there is no place on this earth I would rather NOT be than homecoming. I don’t know that I will ever return there again. Why you ask? I’ve posted it before, but I’ll let Brandon Heath explain it. He does a much better job. “I wish you could see me now, I wish I could show you how that I’m not who I was.” Continue reading Homecoming 2007
There have been some friends that question if I actually work, or just fly around the country going on field trips. Who knew the paparazzi would somehow catch me in the act of actually working? Hopefully this will end all speculation. Update: -Thanks to the Mudpuppy, I must point out that this is NOT a funeral and that is NOT a casket behind me. It was a rather lavish conference room as evidence by the flower arrangements. I does remind me a little of Fletch though. Continue reading I Do Actually Work!
It’s October 19th, in Ohio and 70 degrees outside…in Ohio! Big weekend for the scrapbooking community at our church. The special guest speaker is none other than my sister! I’m not proud of her or anything. Big weekend in our household too. My wife is running in the Columbus Marathon on Sunday. Keep her in your prayers as she completes the race she feels God has called her to run. I’ll be walking a whopping 1/2 mile to catch the beginning, middle and end. With apologies to Justin Timberlake, “I’m Bringin’ Lazy Back”! For you Indians fans out there, there’s … Continue reading Random Friday
Tomorrow is a first for me. Toto and I are flying out VERY early to Kansas. I’ve never been there, so that would make it a first. Just a quick presentation at Kansas Speedway, a quick click of the heels and return to Ohio. I’m hoping to finally make some progress on the Tony Dungy book “Quiet Strength“. It’s been sitting on my desk and in the sidebar under “Currently Reading” for several weeks now. What I have read so far has been amazing. I owe an apology to both Tobymac and Casting Crowns for my low reviews of their … Continue reading Random Randomness
Oh Lebron! Oh the humanity! How dare you wear a Yankee cap in the Indians crib? How can you ever show your face in Cleveland again after wearing a rival teams hat? This is all tongue in cheek folks. Seriously, where is it written that Lebron has to cheer for the Indians just because he plays for the Cavaliers? The only bad judgment I can see is that he likes the Yankees. It’s not the first time he has worn their gear either. Much ado about nothing. That being said, Hey Lebron, “Scoreboard“! Speaking of the Indians, it’s a big … Continue reading Friday Randomness
To quote the great philosopher “Uncle Ricco” from Napoleon Dynamite, “don’t you wish you had a time machine”? Thanks to the Mudpuppy I have spent the entire week listening to 80’s music on XM, Yahoo and my iTunes. I hate to admit it, but the 80’s was great wasn’t it? If you’re still not sure, I have just the cure for you. Below is a little video dedicated to the 80’s. This is in honor of my new feature which we will be seeing more and more of. You’re gonna love this video. This is the best 6:53 you will … Continue reading I Wanna Go Back!
Writing for two blogs is just too much for me to keep up with. With that in mind, the regulars of this blog are going to have to bear with me at times if I post something that is COMPLETELY different then the norm. Maybe it will give even further insight into this bald head of mine. There are just moments when something hits my thought process and must be recorded somewhere. This would be one of those moments. I took a quick break here in the office and read Mudpuppy’s latest post. About 5 minutes later, “Me Myself and … Continue reading On Second Thought
