Encouragement for Wednesday

Tonight I sat down to write a post and I just can’t find the words. I wanted to do something about some very heavy prayer requests. I was going to explain that I believe we should “approach the throne of grace with confidence” (Hebrews 4:16) yet so often my finite understanding of an infinite God gets in the way. My struggle to make sense of everything hinders my ability to ask for anything.

In my search through scripture and various authors, musicians, videos and speakers, I found this. Many have probably seen the incredible Laminin video by Louie Giglio. This is not the same video. Louie goes even further. I post it today to anyone that is going through the storm. I post it for those that know someone going through a storm so we know how to pray. May this encourage us all….

  1. I don’t know about anyone else, but I especially needed the part at 6:10 and on… Hope and Promise sometimes get to be a burden to bear as opposed to an anchor to hold on to.
    Thanks for sharing.
Don’t you just love Louie? I’ve seen him twice here in Atl and he’s just amazing to listen to.

  2. I am a big fan of your blog, and I am thankful that you posted this today. We are praying through the storm…..the son of very, very dear friends was critically wounded in Afghanistan on Sunday, Sgt. Kurtis Dellicker. I would be so grateful if everyone could lift him up in prayer, as well as his family. They will be traveling to Walter Reed on Friday to meet his arrival from Germany.

  3. as recent readers, we’ve enjoyed your blog so much. i dropped in today to comment on your *top 10 tear-jerkers for men*. my husband got a kick out of it and had an oh-so-witty reply. instead, i was met with your prayer request for stef and i’ve spent the better part of my lunch-break, marveling over her site, rooting on this woman with such awe-inspiring, incredible faith over what has become such an overwhelming obstacle in her life. what an inspiration. and then i clicked on the youtube link and sat here and just cried. i’ve never seen louie before. circumstances in my own life have held that overwhelming aspect over the past 2 years and i so needed that reminder today, that our God is real. He is faithful and mighty to save us. that our very construction, praises His name. thank you for that.
